Holy Spirit Episcopal School
Holy Spirit Episcopal School opened its doors in 1962.
From three months through grade eight, HSES students thrive in a research-based, experiential,
extraordinarily engaging curriculum. Here, school awakens wonder. Encourages exploration. Builds confidence.
Imparts academic skills and, more importantly, instills intellectual agility and enthusiasm.
In our loving, nurturing, and joyful learning environment, students find both the courage to take wise risks and the resilience to learn from challenges. Our Episcopal principles—which emphasize compassion, service, and respect for all people and every faith—profoundly enrich the HSES experience. These core beliefs influence our thinking, guide our actions, deepen our relationships,
and inform our extraordinary character education programming.
HSES graduates excel in the top-tier private and public high schools of their choice—and from there,
go on to create engaged, inspired lives for themselves while serving others.

Holy Spirit has a thriving church and school relationship.
Our Director of Facilities works with the school’s administrative team to oversee all maintenance and projects,
while our Director of Family Ministries serves as the school chaplain, ministering to the students, faculty
and families at the school, leading prayer services, and offering pastoral care.
Students ages one year old through 8th grade attend chapel twice a week, and grades 5 through 8, in addition to regular
chapels, attend a monthly Eucharist, celebrated by our rector, with students serving as acolytes.
Students participate in a weekly packing event for our outreach ministry Bayou City Blessings in a Backpack.
Joint activities are well attended by the entire community; including Fam-Fest (a yearly carnival),
Trunk or Treat, and Blessing of the Animals. The Holy Spirit Community Auction, which is chaired by representatives from both
the church and school is an eagerly anticipated annual event, with profits supporting the joint community.
Members of the parish, including a vestry representative, serve on the School Board.
